Avastin® Deaths – Parilman and Associates. The United States Food and Drug Administration’s Office of New Drugs proposed withdrawing the approval for the drug, Avastin®. This drug was approved on February 22, 2008, under accelerated approval provisions for the treatment of patients who have not received chemotherapy for metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer. Genentech was required to present data from two trials to verify treatment effects on progression-free survival (PFS) and provide further information on the effects of overall survival (OS). These two trials did not succeed in confirming the original benefit observed on which the accelerated approval was based. Also, there was an increase in serious adverse incidents related to Avastin®. Avastin® Deaths are not within an acceptable range to warrant the use of the drug. After reviewing data, it has been noted that women who took Avastin® did not live any longer than women who did not receive the drug and yet ran the risk of severe side effects including ones associated with Avastin® Deaths.

Let’s review some of the most serious side effects of the drug, Avastin®.

If a hole develops in your stomach or bowel, it is called a gastrointestinal perforation. This is extremely serious and may include abdominal pain, fever, nausea, vomiting and infection. Death can occur.

Also potentially fatal is slow or incomplete wound healing of a surgical incision.

Severe bleeding which could include vomiting or coughing of blood. Other bleeds might include the brain, possibly causing permanent damage.

Blood clots are extremely serious, traveling to the brain or lungs, producing severe damage and possible death.

To sum up, the breast cancer trials failed to demonstrate a statistically significant continuation of Overall Survival and the addition of Avastin® to chemotherapy resulted in overall increase in serious adverse events. No medication is supposed to do more harm than good. Your attorney at Parilman and Associates will explain what this means to you and your rights under the law. Therefore, if any of your family members suffered due to Avastin® Deaths, seek help. You deserve compensation!

Avastin® is manufactured by a very large and powerful drug maker. They keep many attorneys on their payroll who watch out for them. Get attorneys specializing in Avastin® issues on your side now. It is important when facing powerful drug companies to have the best! Contact one of the lawyers at Parilman and Associates to help you receive relief and compensation, whether you or your family has suffered because of serious side effects or Avastin® Deaths.
